New Parsons Ave. restaurant bringing karaoke, anime murals when it opens next week

We’ve been waiting, and the Columbus Anime Chef has announced an official grand opening date for his new brick and mortar restaurant.

Chef Hiro—according to owner Jean Claude Ba—will open its exciting, energetic South Side eatery on June 19.

The restaurant is located at 1297 Parsons Ave., the former home of Village Taco.

And while Chef Hiro (which also operates a food truck under the same name) is well-known across Columbus for his indulgent and creative Caribbean fare, the new eatery’s interior is likely to draw equal amounts of attention.

This starts with the location’s wall decor, which features a variety of large and brightly-colored anime characters throughout the space. Additionally, Ba plans to make use of a small stage that was already built into the property in a variety of ways.

“I wanted to have karaoke nights, poetry nights, open mic nights, as well as speakers for seminars,” he said.
