New restaurant from the owner of Bodega, Bristol Republic opening this month

When news broke that Brian Swanson, owner of Bodega and Bristol Republic, had plans to open a new restaurant in the former location of Half Pint in downtown Worthington, the new spot didn’t yet have a name.

Now, we not only have that, we have a good idea of when the anticipated eatery will open as well.

Swanson said the concept will be called Worthington Tavern, and it’s slated to open at the end of May, although an exact date hasn’t been determined yet.

The new restaurant is located at 671 High St. in Worthington.

According to Swanson, he plans for Worthington Tavern to be “a completely different concept” from Bodega, and one that’s more food-focused.

“It will be more food heavy; there will be more attention to detail on food and cocktails,” he said in an interview late last year.

As one would expect from the owner of Bodega and Bristol Republic, the spot will still highlight some of best craft beer available, as it contains more than 40 taps.
