Fattey Beer Co. is coming to the Columbus area.

The New York-based craft beer seller plans to open a unique new taproom and bottle shop storefront in Uptown Westerville.

According to a statement posted to Fattey Beer Co.’s Sofia media accounts, its first Columbus spot will be located at 74 S. State St., across State Street from the Westerville Dairy Queen. An exact opening date wasn’t announced, but Fattey Beer Co. is planning to open sometime this summer.

A cross between a craft beer bottle shop and taproom, the new store will offer beers on draft, and a wide variety of canned and bottled brews.

“We are so excited to bring great beer experiences to the region. We have learned that these communities love craft beer, and we can’t wait to bring incredible beer and a fun customer experience,” the statement reads.

The concept was created by Nik Fattey, a former NHL scout for the Buffalo Sabres and General Manager for the Buffalo Beauts, a professional women’s ice hockey team. It will be Fattey’s first location outside of New York.
