Ohio fried chicken chain opening in Grandview next week

While Grandview lost Sweet Carrot just over a year ago, it’s about to gain a suitable replacement.

According to its Instagram account, Hot Chicken Takeover will open its first-ever Grandview restaurant on Dec. 16.

The eatery is located in the former home of Sweet Carrot, at 1417 W. 5th Ave. Sweet Carrot, which served as a popular comfort food restaurant, closed its doors for good in the fall of 2021.

This isn’t the Columbus-based fried chicken chain’s only recent storefront launch, either. Earlier this fall, Hot Chicken Takeover held the grand opening of its Lewis Center restaurant, introducing store-specifics items for the first time in fried pickles that are only available at that location.

Hot Chicken Takeover, which began out of a walk-up chicken window in Olde Towne East, operates four other central Ohio locations.
