New year, new food.
From multiple live-fire restaurants to mini donuts and Korean barbecue, the Columbus is primed to become even more impressive and mouthwatering in 2023.
Since there’s so much to keep track of, we’ve decided to do you the favor of putting our top spots together in one place for you.
Agni, 716 S. High St.
On the heels of opening his widely-acclaimed daytime cafe, Joya’s, in Worthington, Columbus culinary wizard Avishar Barua isn’t stopping to smell the roses, as his new eatery, dedicated to cooking with fire, is primed for an opening early in 2023.
Bridge’s End Brewing, 8950 Dunn Ct.
A new craft brewery and restaurant is (likely) opening this year, and close to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium.
Cento, 595 S. Third St.
Cameron Mitchell Restaurants is opening a brand-new upscale Italian restaurant in German VIllage, likely in the spring of 2023.
Columbus Brewing Co., Trolley District (Kelton Avenue and Oak Street)
CBC is opening a new eatery and taproom on the near east side that will serve as compliment to the recently-opened East Market.

Creole 2 Geaux, 401 N. Front St.
This authentic cajun spot is going from food truck to East Market vendor to Arena District brick and mortar, and all within a year.
Cut 132, 4188 Brighton Rose Way
While Easton will be losing Smith & Wolensky in January, a new contemporary steakhouse will be setting up shop in the Columbus mall. Did we mention there’s a whiskey and bone marrow luge on the menu?
Dodo Donuts, 59 Spruce St. (within The North Market)
One of the city’s most unique food trucks (mini donuts, anyone?) will be launching its first-ever brick and mortar space inside The North Market Downtown.
Esco Restaurant & Tapas, 31 E. Gay St.
A downtown restaurant concept with an eclectic menu and hookah offerings is opening in mid-January, and rapper 2 Chainz is behind it.
The Halal Guys, 6181 Sawkill Rd.
This popular New York chain serving up Mediterranean street food favorites hasn’t opened its first Columhus location just yet, but with the concept announcing the intent to bring 7 restaurants to the Columbus area nearly a year ago, we’re hoping for an opening date soon.
Hireath, 36 E. Lincoln St. (ground and basement levels)
The brains behind Chapman’s Eat Market and the newly-created jazz bar and lounge Ginger Rabbit are launching a highly-anticipated eatery, the menu of which revolves around wood-fired cooking.
Jackie O’s on Fourth, 171 N. 4th St.
This Athens-based brewery is converting its Downtown Columbus hub into a much larger space; construction is slated to be completed early in 2023.
Katalina’s, 480 W. Town St.
One of the City’s favorite breakfast spots–and the one responsible for creating Pancake Balls–is opening a third location in Franklinton, likely this summer.
Kpot, 5240 Bethel Center Mall
Since there’s no such thing as too much Korean barbecue, we’ll welcome the first Columbus location of this East Coast-based eatery with open arms.
Maple Street Biscuit Co., 1310 Polaris Pkwy.
A fun new concept and its Food Network-worthy biscuit sandwiches is opening its doors at Polaris Fashion Place on Jan. 5.
Preston’s: A Burger Joint, 2973 N. High St.
After a highly successful stint inside the North Market Downtown, Columbus’ go-to spot for smash burgers is opening its own standalone eatery in Clintonville.
The Rail, Grandview Crossing
This popular spot for burgers and brews is adding a brand-new Grandview restaurant sometime this year.
The Roosevelt Room, 6544 Longshore St.
This brand-new Teddy Roosevelt-inspired bar technically opens on Dec. 30, but we’ll count that as next year for simplicity’s sake.
Speck Italian Eatery, 89 N. High St.
Standout Columbus chef Josh Dalton recently launched his sea-food focused Cove in Delaware, which means Speck is ready to gain a chic new home in Downtown Columbus soon.
