Popular West Side ice cream spot will remain closed this year

Every year, the West Side of Columbus looks forward to Cream & Sugar opening for the summer season. This year, however, the popular dessert spot has opted to remain closed.

Cream & Sugar, which also operates a food truck, is located at 2185 Sullivant Ave.

On March 15, the Hilltop-based storefront posted a statement to its Facebook page about its decision to remain closed.

“There is no easy way so here goes. I have made the very tough decision to not open our retail location this year,” the statement reads.

But don’t worry soft serve fans, you’ll still have a chance to grab some of Cream & Sugar’s beloved soft serve this year. The shop’s ice cream truck, which is named “Louise,” will offer vanilla soft serve as well as a non-dairy alternative, beginning soon.
