Preston’s is moving from the North Market to open its first standalone restaurant

A much-loved North Market Downtown eatery is ready to take the next step.

Preston’s: A Burger Joint, is leaving the marketplace to open its first-ever standalone restaurant, a Preston’s representative told 614Now.

The smashburger spot will be taking over the former home of Buddha Bowl, which is located at 2973 N. High St. in Clintonville. Buddha Bowl closed its doors on Nov. 23.

Next Friday, Dec. 30 will be Preston’s final day in the North Market. The eatery plans to open its new standalone space in mid-January, although an exact date hasn’t been announced.

“We are proud of Preston’s success and excited for their future in a new brick and mortar location. This is a prime example of North Market’s mission to incubate and support the growth of our merchants,” Rick Harrison Wolfe, North Market Executive Director and CEO, said in a statement.

Preston’s initially opened in the North Market in the fall of 2020, and its scratch-made burgers, fries and chicken quickly became a favorite among many Downtown diners. The concept originally began as a pop-up in 2017.
