A new option for soul food owned by a former United States Postal Worker has opened for business.

The formerly catering-only spot Kay’s Soul Food Kitchen officially opened its first-ever brick and mortar eatery last week. The eatery’s grand opening was held on May 6.

Kay’s, alongside several other international food concepts–such as a Jamaican eatery and Mexican bakery–is situated inside the newest Saraga International Grocery storefront, which is located at 2800 S. Hamilton Rd.

Kay’s offers soul food classics such as ribs, chicken, pork chops and much more.

The concept is owned and operated by Kendra Talley, who served as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service for 24 years before two knee surgeries, in 2019 and 2020, led her to a less physically strenuous profession.

Kay’s Soul Food is open every day of the week except Wednesday.
