Temporarily closed East Coast-style pizza kitchen announces new opening location

Alberta’s Pizza Kitchen has been serving East Coast-style pizza to the Columbus area for the last two years from a number of locations.

Although the pop-up spot has been temporarily closed since mid-January as it transitions from its former home at Halftime Tavern in the Upper Arlington area, the eatery is now ready to move into a new location, also on the city’s Northwest Side.

Alberta’s Pizza Kitchen’s newest hub will be inside The Pointe Tavern, which is located at 1991 Riverside Dr.

The eatery will officially reopen at The Pointe on Feb. 17 at 5 p.m.

The Pointe Tavern will be the third location Alberta’s Pizza Kitchen has used to sell its East Coast Pies in Columbus.  When the pizzeria was launched in August 2020 by Doug Sauer, one of the founders of Kolache Republic, it did so in the kitchen of Hey Hey’s, a longstanding Merion Village bar and grilll.

Sauer’s version of East Coast pie is similar to New York style pizza, as both feature triangular cuts and thinner, foldable slices.
