The city’s “first queer-owned coffee truck for everyone” holding grand opening this week
It was nearly a year ago that The Galaxy Coffee was introduced to Columbus as a concept. And now, the queer-owned spot focused on inclusivity and community is ready to open its doors to the public.
According to a statement posted to The Galaxy’s social media accounts, the truck will be holding its official grand opening on June 25, from 8 a.m. until noon.
The event will take place outside of Virtue Vegan Salon, which is located at 3282 High St.

The Galaxy is owned by Jevonna Morris and Kels Wilson, a pair of long-time baristas who met while working together at a different Columbus coffee shop. According to Morris, the two aim to capture the atmosphere and inclusivity of the city’s LGBTQIA+ scene in their business.
“We love gay bars, and wanted to capture that inclusivity, but with another sort of vibe,” she said in an interview with 614Now last year. “We think a coffee shop or truck can be for all ages, races, whatever; a place where younger members of the queer community can meet each other and people of all ages.”
The truck will offer a full spread of coffee and espresso drinks, in addition to coffee milkshakes, frozen lemonade and more.
