Nearly a year ago, we learned that the national restaurant chain featuring gyros, falafel and more—Halal Guys—plans to open not one or two, but seven Central Ohio locations.

We’ve been waiting patiently for updates, and we know now where the first local Halal Guys eatery will be.

The popular chain announced today that its first Columbus-area store will be located at 6181 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin.

Currently, no other Halal guys locations have been released. The restaurant has confirmed that the Dublin storefront is under construction, but it hasn’t announced an opening date just yet.

The Halal Guys—based in Astoria, N.Y.—launched by three Egyptian Americans who purchased a hot dog cart in New York in 1990, has blossomed into a national operation that will open its 100th store in Pittsburgh, Pa. later this year. The eatery’s Columbus locations will be the Halal Guys stores in Ohio.
