Publication calls Columbus a pizza destination that’s ‘worth the trip’

We’re not just a flyover city or town you visit when your team is playing the Buckeyes – according to a national publication, Columbus is “worth the trip” just for our pizza alone.

The Takeout, a media outlet highlighting food & culture in the U.S., recently published an article that said Columbus …“boasts its very own regional pizza style that can more than hold its own alongside New York slices and Chicago deep dish.” They even gave a shoutout to Donato’s Pizza and the Columbus-style pizza trail.

“Columbus-style pizza is defined by its square cut, thin yeasted crust, and most importantly, toppings piled high. Any toppings will do, from classic pepperoni to ever-controversial pineapple — as long as the topping-to-crust ratio leans heavily towards toppings, you’re good to go. If your go-to pizza order involves extra cheese and double pepperoni, Columbus-style pizza is for you,” the article states.

The article also mentions our plethora of other pizza offerings in Columbus, like Ohio-Valley style (found at DiCarlo’s).
