This beloved Columbus dessert combines cake donuts with pie, and here’s where you can find one

Apple pie is a classic, but for some, the classics can feel a bit stale. The best way to liven things up when tried and true has run its course: Mix it with a donut.

And this is exactly what Dragon Donuts has done. The popular Columbus bakery has brought back its seasonal Donut Pies for Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow is the last day to place a preorder for the unique dessert, so if you want one for Thanksgiving, don’t wait around. Pickup for orders will take place on Nov. 23.

The seasonal treats are made by filling a traditional pie crust with cake donuts (yes, you read that correctly), followed by the addition of frosting or speciality toppings. This year’s flavors include:

Apple Donut Pie: Flakey, buttery crust filled with vanilla cake donuts and house-made apple pie filling; Topped with streusel pieces and white icing.

Peanut Butter Donut Pie: Chilled peanut butter pie combined with vanilla cake donuts; Topped with Reese’s Cups and a milk chocolate drizzle.

Caramel Apple Donut Pie: Flakey pie crust with apple filling; Topped with creamy caramel.
