This Columbus restaurant has been at the Ohio State Fair since 1914, making it the event’s oldest food stand
In the Ohio State Fair’s arena of eye-catching neon signs and comically-oversized signage, one local eatery doesn’t need anything ostentatious to capture the attention of visitors.

“Not only is Schmidt’s the oldest food vendor at the Ohio State Fair, as far we know, it’s the oldest in any state fair throughout the country – woah,” a statement posted to Scdmit’s Instagram account reads.
You can find Schmidt’s long-standing fair food stand on the Ohio State Fair Midway, at the northeast corner of the Bricker MarketPlace, across from the Brown Sheep Barn.
