What’s better than ice cream? How about an entire festival dedicated to the frozen dessert.

And now, for the first time in two years, you have the opportunity to enjoy both. That’s right: The Utica Sertoma Ice Cream Festival is officially back.

The historic event, which has taken place since 1975 (outside of celebrations in 2020 and 2021, which were canceled due to COVID), will be held on May 28 at Velvet Ice Cream’s Ye Olde Mill, which is located at 11324 Mount Vernon Rd. in Utica. The festival takes place roughly nine miles north of New Albany.

Velvet Ice Cream will open for the summer season on May 3.

The festival, which will feature more than 90 different artisans and vendors, will also offer food, a parade through the village of Utica, tractor pulls and an ice-cream eating contest.

Admission to the Sertoma Ice Cream Festival costs $5 per car.
