Facing even more summer heat, Columbus Parks and Rec. has opened multiple cooling centers; Here’s where to find them

We caught a quick break from temperatures in the mid-90s, but Central Ohio is once again staring down another stretch of scorchers.

On the bright side, this means the Columbus Parks and Rec. Department has opened cooling centers at seven different local community centers that are totally free.

The following community centers will have open cooling centers through June 23:

  • Barnett, 1184 Barnett Rd
  • Beaty, 247 N. Ohio Ave.
  • Dodge, 667 Sullivant Ave.
  • Douglass, 1250 Windsor Ave.
  • Glenwood, 1888 Fairmont Ave.
  • Linden, 1350 Briarwood Ave.
  • Marion Franklin, 2801 Lockbourne Rd.

Unless otherwise noted, the centers will be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Columbus Parks and Rec. is also extending the hours of operation at multiple community pools, including Dodge, Driving Park, Glenwood, Lincoln, and Tuttle.
