Woman shot in neck in Italian Village

Jack McLaughlin

Another shooting has come to one of the city’s most vibrant hubs for food and nightlife.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, a woman was shot in the neck in Italian Village, in the vicinity of the popular cafe Fox in the Snow. The eatery is located at 1031 N. 4th St.

The victim was later hospitalized.

According to police, the shooting came following an argument between several women and a third party, as the women were attempting to leave a nearby parking lot but were blocked in by another vehicle.

According to the victims, a man approached their vehicle and fired into it, striking one of the women.

By the time this story was published, no one has been arrested for the incident.

The shooting comes after Columbus recorded its highest homicide rate ever last year, with shootings becoming more commonplace in popular social and dining spots. Several took place in the Short North last summer alone.
