The sixth-annual Mega Tube Float offers an exciting new way to keep the kids, and yourself, entertained all afternoon

What’s better than a pool party? How about a casual, three-mile float down the Hocking River in intertubes?

At this year’s iteration of the Mega Tube Float, which will be held Aug. 18-20, you can do just that.

The event, which is now in its sixth year, will take place Aug. 18-20 at Adventure Pro Outdoors, in Nelsonville, approximately an hour away from Downtown Columbus.

The course takes between three and five hours to complete for most parties. As tubes are launched upriver from the float’s endpoint, little to no effort is required to get your tube down the river, as the current of the Hocking River carries participants through three miles of water and wilderness.

While more than 400 tubes are available each day (and visitors can bring their own), reservations are recommended for the Mega Tube Float. Adult trips cost $25, and floats for kids are $20. You can also pay $16 for a cooler carrier float to keep your favorite beverages cold.
