Midwest is best, sure, but the Midwest is also really funny, and Dayton, Ohio native, Beth Stelling, is proving that with her new Netflix stand-up set.

On October 3rd, Stelling’s one-hour comedy special, “If You Didn’t Want Me Then” dropped on Netflix’s “Netflix is a Joke” series, where they feature incredibly hilarious comedians on their streaming platform. In the past, famous comedians such as Dave Chapelle, Nikki Glaser, Pete Davidson, and Trevor Noah have all been featured in the same stand-up series.

Most of these comedy specials are filmed in larger, sold-out arenas, but Stelling chose the Victoria Theater in Dayton, OH for a filming location, staying true to her roots.

Reviews show critics are a fan of Stelling’s laid-back, dry humor, and they especially appreciate the lack of political commentary that seems to be overtaking the world of comedy right now. Instead of poking fun at others, Stelling performs a monologue, reflecting mostly about getting older, but understated, witty punches.

Stelling refers to many local Ohio spots in her set, so watch it for yourself to see if you recognize any!
