A massive new Esports stadium is on its way to The Arch City.

Glytch, an Esports entertainment company, plans to open a 100,000 square foot esports arena in Columbus, complete with a broadcasting studio and seating for 2,000 spectators. The arena will be one of 32 that Glytch creates across the United States and Canada over the next seven years.

“Ohio has a booming esports fan base and we are proud to be serving the Buckeye State with a true, professional esports stadium,” Michael Williams, chief visionary officer for Glytch, said in a press release. “We firmly believe this is the next step in esports.”

The 100,000 square foot space comes with the popularity of Esports continuing to rise in Ohio. Today, Ohio University, Ohio State University, and University of Cincinnati each have an Esports team.

A location for the new venue has not been announced, but it is likely to break ground later this year, with an opening in 2024 or 2025.
