Plain City has a brand-new breakfast spot.

The Red Hen Cafe & Bakery, which is located at 542 W. Main St. in Plain City, held its grand opening on Dec.1, according to owner Renita Yoder.

The new central Ohio eatery offers a variety of from-scratch baked goods and dining options for both breakfast and lunch.

According to Yoder, the new cafe’s cinnamon roll has been a crowd favorite so far. The house-made rolls can be topped with traditional white icing, caramel icing or raspberry icing. The Red Hen also sells donuts, coffee cake muffins, fry pies and more.

For breakfast entrees, diners can grab croissant sandwiches, breakfast burritos and more. According to Yoder, though, the Plain City diner’s signature item for both breakfast and lunch is The Nest, which combines layers of hash browns, sausage crumbles, cheese, white sauce and toasted biscuits.

“Things have already been going so well for us; We’ve just had so much community support,” Yoder said. “I think Plain City was ready to have a place like this.”
