‘USA Today’ poll names Columbus-area festival third best in the country

The top 10 cultural festivals for 2023 were recently named in the annual “USA Today” 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and a local event found its way near the top of the list.

According to “USA Today,” the Dublin Irish Festival is the country’s third best cultural festival for 2023. 

“This love song to all things Irish includes Irish dance performances, Celtic music, a Wee Folk play area for children and traditional Irish food and drinks,” the list reads. “Visitors can delve into the richness of Gaelic culture with literary presentations, hands-on workshops and athletic demonstrations.”

The Dublin event was ranked higher than Hawaii’s Aloha Festival and Albuquerque’s international Hot Air Balloon Festival this year. It came in behind Kutztown, Pennsylvania’s Kutztown Folk Festival in second place, and the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C., which claimed the top spot. According to the Irish Festival’s website, it is the largest three-day Irish festival in the world,

This year, Dublin’s annual Irish Festival will be held Aug. 4-6 at Coffman Park.
