International go-kart & entertainment chain opening first Columbus area location
The seasons are changing, and it seems as if almost every aspect of Mill Run Shopping Center in Hilliard, OH is changing, too. Rev up your engines for an exciting addition!
Robert “Skip” Weiler, a real estate agent and owner of the Robert Weiler Company, told us that a world-wide Go-Kart company, K1 Speed, showed interest at the 3700 Fishinger Blvd. location in Mill Run Shopping Center about eight months ago. They’re supposed to close in October. “It hasn’t officially happened yet, but they’re putting the pieces together,” said Weiler.

However, K1 Speed’s website confirms that it is indeed officially coming to Columbus. No specific address has been listed yet. Their website explains that an “Arrive & Drive” track is set to open here, which, “Unlike the go-kart track at your local miniature golf course, our tracks are professionally designed, fully enclosed for racing in rain or shine, and well maintained…our high-performance electric karts are in a different league altogether from the anemic, lawn mower-powered karts you’re accustomed to. Capable of speeds approaching 45mph, our electric karts have maximum torque available from 0 rpm and accelerate to their top speed almost instantly…they provide genuine thrills, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned enthusiast.”
As well as an indoor go-kart track, K1 Speed’s Columbus location will boast an indoor arcade, billiards, air hockey, and Paddock Lounge, which is a full restaurant serving traditional pub fare, like burgers and pizza.
K1 Speed has 72 locations around the globe, including in China and South Korea.
They could not be reached for further commentary.
