The terrifying, Christmas themed haunted house that sells out in minutes is coming to Cbus again

Sav McKee

For those who prefer a creepy Krampus over sweet Santa, there’s a special event coming soon to Columbus that pays homage to the spookier side of Christmas. One that sells out year after year, and one that people travel from out of state just to visit.

Krampus: A Haunted Christmas Experience is here for two weekends only this December, the 8th-10th and 15th-17th, hosted at Fear Columbus, located at 2605 Northland Plaza Dr. This scary experience boasts 40,000 square feet of “holiday horror,” with a massive interactive walkthrough that features elaborate Christmas-themed sets, live actors, and audio visual technology.

The installation also features a holiday light show synced to eerie music, plus a live walkthrough of the legend of Krampus, with different scenes played out by actors. Once the story ends, you then have to escape from Krampus’ lair, making your way through a post-apocalyptic city and frozen wasteland. They use technology to simulate walking through an abandoned town during a blizzard.

This terrifying, yet still holiday-themed experience will also offer photo opportunities, hot chocolate, and Krampus themed treats. That is, if you make it out of Krampus’ lair.

Tickets sold out in minutes last year, which is “record time” according to Fear Columbus’ Facebook, so make sure to grab early access tickets here. Fear Columbus hasn’t yet released the normal ticket release date, so keep your eyes peeled on their website and their Facebook.

Please take a look at Fear Columbus’ “Know Before You Go” website before visiting. The experience is definitely not for the faint of heart, and they don’t recommend anyone who uses a pacemaker or is under 13 years old to visit.
