A new Hawaiian BBQ spot just opened in the Dublin area

Sav McKee

Spam fans rejoice – a new Hawaiian BBQ spot just opened on 3512 W. Dublin Granville Rd., and along with a variety of Katsu options, it also features spam fried rice.

Christina, the owner of Ohana Island Grill, spent the past seven years working at a Hawaiian restaurant in California. After moving to Ohio, she was inspired to open up her own Hawaiian BBQ joint, which she says is different from traditional American and even Asian BBQ.

There’s also a second location of Ohana Island Grill in Oxford, Ohio. Both this newest location and the one in Oxford have raving reviews, with people saying their food comes in large portions, is very authentic, and absolutely delicious.

Christina emphasized that the food at Ohana Island Grill is extremely fresh, and that she’s thankful for all of the business so far. Her favorite items on the menu are the Katsu Chicken and the BBQ Mix, which consists of teriyaki beef, BBQ chicken, and BBQ short ribs. Other menu items include lumpia, which is almost like a Polynesian spring roll, crab rangoon, gyoza, Ohana chicken wings, seafood, and even hamburgers and fries.

Ohana Island Grill is open Sunday-Thursday, 11am to 9pm, and Friday – Saturday, 11am to 9:30pm.
