After 15 month-stint, this Franklinton eatery has called it quits

In November of 2021, the longtime Columbus catering company Bleu & Fig opened its first brick and mortar restaurant, the Bleu & Fig Cafe. Only 15 months later, however, the Franklinton eatery announced the space will cease operations.

In a statement posted to its Instagram account yesterday, owne Brooke Kinsey announced the closure. The eatery, which was located at 1160 W. Broad St. inside Jubilee Market, officially closed its doors on Feb. 17.

“The café has been a labor of love. We have shed tears (I’m crying as I type this) and made amazing friendships. My tears are both sad and happy (that’s life for you),” Kinsey said in the statement. “Special shout-out to my team: You have worked tirelessly, without complaining, always with amazing attitudes, and pivoting, pivoting, pivoting. We opened the cafe during Covid. It’s been a hell of an experience and it’s beyond words what we’ve learned.”

While Bleu & Fig Cafe, which served as a cafe and grab-and-go spot for a variety of sandwiches, salads, sides and baked goods, has closed in Franklinton, according to Kinsey’s statement, there’s still some excitement ahead for the Bleu & Fig brand.

“We’re hoping very soon that we will be able to share with you all another amazing opportunity that has been presented to us! Stay tuned,” the statement reads.
