After more than four decades, Columbus restaurant will close this weekend

We’ve known that the closure is coming, but that doesn’t make things any easier.

The 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, the historic aviation-themed eatery that’s located on the property of John Glenn International Airport, will permanently close June 18 at 4 p.m.

“It is with a great deal of emotion that we announce that the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant will be permanently closing on Sunday, June 18th at 4 pm. Our lease is ending at that time and we have decided to explore other opportunities,” a statement from the eatery announcing the closure, originally posted to its website in early January, reads.

Due to a spike in business since the closure announcement, The 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant now requires reservations.

Filled with aviation memorabilia, the eatery has begun selling off many of its unique artifacts. The sale is currently taking place, and the space will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. June 19-23 to sell remaining items.
