After nearly 15 years, this Columbus pizzeria will close its doors for good

After the better part of two decades, the Polaris location of Mellow Mushroom has announced it will close its doors for good next month.

The eatery, which first opened in 2009, will shutter on June 12, according to a statement posted to the pizzeria’s Facebook page by franchisee Colby Zachrich, who originally opened the location in 2009.

“After 15 amazing years and with our franchise agreement coming to an end we have made the difficult decision to not sign an extension to our franchise agreement and move forward with only one location in New Albany, Ohio,” Zachrich’s statement reads. “I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for being such great guests and many of you have become friends over the years.”

The national chain will continue to operate restaurants across the East Coast and Midwest, with its New Albany storefront serving as its only central Ohio location.

Mellow Mushroom’s Polaris restaurant is located at 2170 Polaris Pkwy. Its New Albany eatery, which opened inside  2014, is located at 260 Market St., STE A.
