After nearly 20 years in this same location, this Columbus eatery is moving to a new home

Since 2006, Creole Kitchen and head chef Henry Butcher have been serving up New Orleans-inspired classics from the eatery’s home at 1052 Mt. Vernon Ave., but now, after nearly two decades in the same space, the eatery is eyeing a new location.

According to CEO Antoinette Parks, the long-standing local spot is planning to relocate. She said Creole Kitchen will move to The Ogden, a new multi-use building that’s coming to 795 E. Long St. The move will keep the restaurant in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville neighborhood.

While Parks said the new space will be the same square footage as its original location, she believes it will be in an area that’s more appealing and accessible to many customers.

“We definitely wanted to stay in King-Lincoln Bronzeville, and Long Street is a better location than Mount Vernon Avenue. We have a lot of customers who love our food but don’t necessarily want to come to that area,” she said. “The Long Street location is going to give us a lot more clientele who always wanted to come.”

Parks said the buildout of its new location is slated to begin in November or December of this year. Creole Kitchen will likely close for a short period of time in late 2023 or early 2024 as equipment is moved to the new location. The eatery said is aiming for a March 2024 opening in the new space.
