After ten years, this Columbus brewery announces unexpected closure; Will be replaced by new concept
One month from today, Sideswipe Brewing will close its sole taproom and brewery.
In a statement posted to Sideswipe’s Facebook page this morning, Sideswipe owner Craig O’Herron announced that the Columbus craft brewery will close its doors for good on July 30, with a final goodbye party slated for July 22.
“Thank you for drinking my beer and making me Famous Craig of Sideswipe Brewing Company. This title of Famous Craig is one that I have taken lightly, in fact it’s a hilarious title. The next thing I must tell you is much less hilarious,” O’Herron’s statement reads. “I love the beer community and the wonderful people that have brought me so much joy, without you there was never a brewery and I never would have become Famous Craig. After nearly a decade of toil, great joy, and many sleepless nights it is time for me to ride off into the sunset and become once again Just Craig.”

The brewery is located at 2419 Scioto Harper Dr., just across the Scioto River from Grandview. It will be replaced by Columbus homebrewer Jason Wing’s new concept, although what exactly this will be is unclear.
Sideswipe Brewing first opened in 2013.
