New concept featuring cereal-inspired milk shakes, mac and cheese bowls now open

A brand-new restaurant is bringing build-your-own mac and cheese bowls plus a full slate of unique frozen treats central Ohio just in time for summer.

Mac Daddy’s Mac & Shakes officially opened its doors on May 30 at New Albany’s Bubbly Hall.

Bubbly Hall itself opened for business just a few months earlier. The food hall, which boasts vendors serving Korean street food, dessert crepes and more, is located at 6065 Central College Rd. in New Albany.

Mac Daddy’s, which is not associated with the Columbus ghost Kitchen Mac Daddy’s Mac & Cheese, serves milkshakes topped with sweet cereals like Reese’s Puffs, Lucky Charms, Coco Pebbles and more.

According to owner Paige Barnhart, the eatery’s Mac & Cheese bowls are not available yet, but will be soon. They plan to feature the popular item as “a main dish and not just a side piece.”

Barnhart, a native of Fairbanks, Alaska, told 614Now she hopes to capture both the state’s unique summer and winter seasons with the concept.

“Winters in Alaska are dark and cold (down to -60) where we lived and the summers are sunny 24/7 and 70 degrees so we wanted to bring a concept to celebrate the best of both seasons,” she said.
