Patio season means Palomas, Frozen Slushies, Margaritas and more at El Vaquero

Jack McLaughlin

While the official starts of summer is tantalizingly close to arriving in Central Ohio, why wait until June 21 to partake in all your favorite warm-weather drinks?

Because at El Vaquero, patio season has already arrived.

You can enjoy the summer sun on their patio with an array of cool drinks from the long-standing restaurant, including their Paloma, which features Patron Silver Tequila, grapefruit citrus soda and fresh lime, served in a salt-rimmed glass (on the rocks, of course) that’s garnished with a lime. A fun riff on the Paloma swaps the Patron for Pasote Reposado, a barrel-aged tequila made from blue agave.

And when it gets really hot, you can reach for one of El Vaquero’s Frozen Slushies (which are available from 4-8 p.m. daily), or their signature Margaritas, served in an enormous variety of fun and naturally-flavored options, such as Strawberry, Lime, Watermelon, Mango, Pina Colada, Blue Curacao, Peach, Raspberry and Pomegranate.

If it’s cold drinks you’re after, don’t forget that El Vaquero now offers two happy hours as well, one from 2-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and another from 4-8 p.m. daily.
