Anticipated cheesesteaks & wings restaurant just opened

Sav McKee

A popular spot for gooey cheesesteaks, buffalo wings, and crispy fries just opened last week.

Charley’s Cheesesteaks just opened their first-ever Hilliard location in the space that once housed Hummus Pita & Co., located at 1777 Hilliard-Rome Rd. They first announced their arrival with a sign on the door that said “COMING SOON” back in October, and after much anticipation, the grill is up and running, and they’re ready to serve you.

There are currently 10 other Charley’s Cheesesteaks chains in the Columbus area. The original Charley’s started back in 1986 while CEO Charley Shin was an undergrad at The Ohio State University. “After experimenting with countless ingredients and perfecting his recipe, Shin turned is entrepreneurial dreams into a reality…he opened his first restaurant called Charley’s Steakery, a 450-square foot space near the OSU campus,” says their website.

Their current menu hasn’t strayed too far from their original 1986 one – it still features sandwiches made with steak or chicken, vegetables, and melted cheese – a classic Philadelphia favorite. This location will also offer wings (up to a 50 piece order!), fries, mozzarella sticks, and even milkshakes. You can order your meal there at the restaurant, online for pickup, or delivery.
