The official 20-stop Ohio Ice Cream Trail is here; See which central Ohio spots made the cut

July is National Ice Cream Month, and even if it wasn’t–considering the heat we’ve witnessed recently– it would still be prime time to eat a whole lot of our favorite frozen dessert.

If you’re feeling up to a road trip, the Ohio Ice Cream Trail is a 20-stop experience that brings you to some of the absolute spots for ice cream The Buckeye State has to offer.

“The Ohio Ice Cream Trail is such a unique way to explore Ohio,” Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development said in a press release. “The trail does a fantastic job showcasing Ohio’s great dairy industry and small business spirit, while inspiring travelers to visit corners of the state they may have never visited before.”

Columbus proper claimed one spot on the list with, you guessed it, the hometown heroine of frozen desserts, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. Nearby, Johnson’s Ice Cream in Bexley also made the list.

You can read the entire list here, but a pair of other stops on the trail are within an hour’s drive of Downtown Columbus, including Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl in Zanesville and Velvet Ice Cream in Utica.

You can also download a printable copy of the Ohio Ice Cream Trail here, just make sure your cone doesn’t drip on the paper.
