Restaurant group behind Local Cantina launching ‘Southern California-inspired’ eatery and bar

A fresh new “beverage-forward, fresh-focused” restaurant will be joining Franklinton’s Gravity Development.

Prim Mason, a new eatery planning “Southern California-inspired” interior and exterior, is slated to open in the spring of 2024 in Gravity’s H Building, a single-story structure near the corner of McDowell Street and State Street that’s currently being renovated.

According to a press release, the concept was created by Jordan Hellman, the current CEO of Orange Umbrella Restaurant Group and the co-founder of Zest Juice Co. and High Bank Distillery Co. Orange Umbrella owns Local Cantina and multiple other local eateries.

“I’m very excited for OUR Group to bring this concept to Gravity, and am very appreciative of our owner, George Tanchevski, for believing in this concept. With Prim Mason, we want to create a beautifully curated environment with high-level attention to detail, from the vibe to the service to the food and beverage,” Hellman said in a press release. “I hope it will make people feel like they’re in a really special and comfortable environment—a place to eat and drink but also to work and to connect.”

The new eatery will feature salads, wraps, bowls, sandwiches, entrees, and even fresh-squeeze juices incorporated into cocktails.
