Columbus area brewery considered one of the ‘Top Breweries in America’
We all know the Columbus area is a beer region through and through – in fact, so much so, that Cbus beer lovers seemed to have helped one Central Ohio brewery gain a spot on the lists of “Top Craft Breweries in America” and “Top 50 Overall Brewing Companies.”
BrewDog Brewing Company’s Canal Winchester location ranked 38th “Top craft Brewery in America” as well as the 48th “Top 50 Overall Brewing Company,” garnering more popularity than other well-known breweries on the list, such as Revolution Brewing in Chicago, and even Lost Coast Brewery in California.
In order to determine the top, most popular craft breweries in all of America, The Brewers Association, a non-profit trade organization, focused on beer sales volume. This report was released in a press release on April 18, 2023.
The Canal Winchester location features “…taps flowing with fresh beer from us & our favorite guest brewers…burgers, pizzas, salads, tacos and sharing boards…with pinball and shuffleboards,” says their website. There’s even the “World’s First Craft Beer Hotel” that features beer taps in every room. It’s easy to see why this brewery has gained national recognition.
BrewDog originated as a small brewery in Ellon, Scotland in 2007, and since then, it’s come a very long way. Along with a taproom location in Franklinton, BrewDog has around 90 other bars around the world, and 5 other brewing locations globally. BrewDog Canal Winchester is the only USA brewery.
A huge congrats to BrewDog, along with Great Lakes (Cleveland) and Rhinegeist (Cincinnati), who ranked #18 and #23 top craft breweries. Cheers to Ohio showing off once again!
