Dublin sandwich shop and bakery announces permanent closure

A North Market Bridge Park vendor is calling it quits.

BREaD Bakery + Cafe, which opened at the Dublin marketplace in early 2021, will close for good at 6 p.m. on Feb. 19.

Owner Kim Hendrix told 614Now that BREaD is closing because she plans to retire.

“A big thank you to our many customers for their support and patronage of BREaD over the past two years. It was our absolute pleasure baking for you,” Hendrix said in a statement.

According to Hendrix, who also operated the artisan cheese concept Fromagerie Ohio, BREaD Cafe, which began as a Dublin pop-up, was born out of North Market Bridge Park’s desire for a from-scratch bakery.

“There was already a cheese vendor [Black Radish Creamery] at North Market Bridge Park, and they asked me to focus more on bread, so I transitioned away from cheese when we opened,” she said.

BREaD Bakery + Cafe offers a variety of fresh-baked bread, sweet treats, coffee and sandwiches.

The eatery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m to 6 p.m.
