Franklinton-area hotel with poutine restaurant and rooftop bar announces grand opening

Featuring riverfront views and a full slate of new food and drink concepts, The Junto’s long-awaited opening announcement has finally arrived.

According to a press release, the new hotel will hold its grand opening in May, although an exact date wasn’t announced.

The Junto, which was created by the local development group Rockbridge and will be managed by the hospitality company Makeready, is located at 77 Belle St., just west of the Scioto River.

“I am proud of the team we have built at Makeready to steward the vision of creating connective places and destinations that make a difference within the communities we join,” said Rockbridge CEO and founder of Makeready Jimmy Merkel in a press release. “We consider it part of our job to understand the soul of the cities we build in and I couldn’t be more excited to bring The Junto to my hometown.”

The new hotel will feature a handful of new dining concepts, including Little West Poutine, which will operate as a walk-up window, Brass Eye, a Benjamin-Franklin inspired rooftop bar, the wood-hearth focused dinner spot Little West Tavern and more. You can find a description of each concept coming to the hotel here.

Self-described as an “independent lifestyle hotel”, The Junto aims to serve as a community gathering hub for all walks of life.

“The Junto has been intentionally programmed as a space where people and ideas can thrive. This destination exemplifies the creativity, and the evolving growth Columbus is becoming known for while connecting people from all backgrounds to gather and become inspired,” Christine Magrann, President and COO of Makeready, said in a press release. “We look forward to fostering a deep relationship between this great community and The Junto in May.”

The Junto is accepting reservations for May and beyond now.
