A Columbus eatery known for its decadent waffle creations will be forced  to temporarily close due to a kitchen fire.

According to a statement posted to its social media accounts yesterday, an electrical fire broke out at SuperChef’s Gahanna restaurant yesterday, which has caused the eatery to temporarily close.

“Today, we had an electrical fire in our kitchen; fortunately everyone is safe and the damages seem manageable,” the statement reads.

According to SuperChef’s, the eatery will reopen, but there is currently no timetable for when. Patrons to check the restaurant’s social media accounts for reopening updates.

The fire comes less than a year after SuperChef’s reopened in a smaller storefront after swapping with Los Guachos Taqueria, their neighbor within Gahanna’s Stoneridge Plaza. The location swap occurred in early April, and SuperChef’s reopened July 11.
