The Columbus area is rapidly increasing the number of interesting steakhouse concepts, and now a high-end national chain is headed to the Arch City as well.

According to a liquor permit filed with the state of Ohio, The Capital Grille is opening its first-ever location in the Columbus area.

The permit application, filed by Capital Grille Holdings LLC, shows that the Orlando-based eatery is planning its first central Ohio storefront at 1827 Olentangy River Rd., which served as the former home of Champps Kitchen + Bar for more than 20 years, before shuttering in February of last year.

The clubhouse-style steakhouse chain boasts a refined interior and menu offerings. Currently, the chain operates dozens of restaurants across the country, including a pair of Ohio storefronts, located in Cincinnati and Lyndhurst.
