Anticipated southern chicken chain misses target opening but now officially open

We know, we know – the lore of Bojangles opening has been upon us for the past four months. But this time, it’s for real – Bojangles is officially open, and the Hilliard community started waiting in line at 6am Tuesday morning to get their chicken biscuit fix.

Bojangles was originally targeting a tentative opening date of May 23rd, although this was pushed back. Later, on Aug. 16, a manager at the Hilliard Bojangles shared a post that the first Columbus location would open on Sept. 7 at 5 a.m.

“I am happy to announce that Bojangles will be open September 7th at 5am. We are all super excited to serve all you fine folks and we appreciate your patience. Also, I suggest the new Bo-berry milkshake!!!! It’s absolutely amazing! You will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to meet you all very soon,” the now-deleted post read.

Although it’s now several days after the concept’s slated grand opening, Bojangles has arrived. The store opened today around 6am., meaning patrons can finally grab a biscuit breakfast every day until 2 p.m., along with chicken sandwiches, hand-breaded chicken tenders, milkshakes, salads, and sides such as Bo fries, their famous dirty rice, coleslaw, and of course, baked macaroni and cheese and Legendary iced tea.

The Hilliard community has reacted positively to the opening, with numerous Facebook posts explaining the service was great. “It’s official! Service was fast, friendly, and they were running efficiently!” said one post.

We’ll see you in line – officially!
