Since March of 2020, Katzinger’s Delicatessen in German Village had operated as a takeout-only restaurant, but for the first time in almost three years, that has changed.

Katzinger’s, which is located at 475 S. 3rd St. in German Village, officially reopens today after an eight-day closure for renovations.

According to Katzinger’s Business Manager Michelle Johnson, the updated space brings “swanky new tables and chairs but still the same beloved corned beef we have been serving for almost 39 years.”

The reopening also means that the German Village eatery’s dining room is open to the public for the first time since the initial outbreak of COVID-19.

Katzinger’s, which first opened in German Village in 1984, has a second restaurant located at 7160 Murfield Dr. in Dublin.
