Ivan Kane opening authentic New York-style pizzeria next month

From actor to entertainer and restaurateur, Ivan Kane is a man of many talents. Next week, he’ll be able to add one more title to his lengthy repertoire as well: pizzeria owner.

Kane, a native of New York City, is in the process of transforming the first floor of Ivan Kane’s Forty Deuce, his popular Easton restaurant and nightclub, into an authentic, New York style pizzeria and bar. The space is slated to open in early February, and pizza will replace the burgers and milkshakes Kane’s was previously known for.

The new spot will be called Kane’s Forty Deuce Pizzeria & Bar. The top floor of the building will remain Ivan Kane’s Burlesque Speakeasy.

“Growing up in New York, I think of yelling up to your buddy on the third floor, ‘Let’s go grab a slice together,'” Kane said. “We’re talking the huge, New York-style slices, folding them, everything authentic.”

According to Kane, after a thorough redesign, the concept will offer an immersive new atmosphere as well.

“It’s not just pizza, it’s an entire vibe,” Kane said. “It will feel more like a party, with the lights down low. We won’t take reservations, but if the tables are all full, guests will be able to go upstairs to the Speakeasy, which we’re opening from 6 p.m. until close.”

Kane’s upstairs Speakeasy received some of its own upgrades as well, including a massive new video board–which Kane believes is the largest in Columbus–for movie nights, Valentine’s Day screenings, Karaoke alongside a live rock band and more.

Kane’s Forty Deuce Pizzeria & Bar will be open late, from 4 p.m. until midnight on the weekdays, and noon until 2 a.m. on weekends.
