Long-standing Clintonville restaurant closing for good this weekend

After service on Sept. 2, The Crest’s Clintonville restaurant will be no more.

Last month, the eatery—known for its take on contemporary Appalachian cuisine—announced it would be closing in early August, although at the time the exact of its closure was unknown.

“As we reflect on the years we spent serving the Columbus community we are filled with a lot of emotions, but the biggest one is gratitude,” a statement posted to The Crest’s Instagram account reads. “We couldn’t have made such an impact on the local food community without all of you who have kept us going through the years. Thank you to all of our supporters for making this place feel like home. To our staff- thank you for making this home feel warm.”

The Crest also operated a location on the corner of Parsons Avenue and Livingston Avenue, which is now home to The Mercury Diner, another concept from the same restaurant group.

The Clintonville eatery, which has been located at 2855 Indianola Ave. in Clintonville for more than a decade, will be replaced by the first Columbus location of Yellow Springs Brewery.

The new Yellow Springs space is expected to open in October.
