Colin’s Coffee, self-described as “Upper Arlington’s only independent coffee shop,” has announced it will say goodbye after a lengthy run.

According to a statement shared by owner Collin Gawel, the coffee shop and breakfast spot will close its doors for good on Aug. 20

“It has been an unbelievable run. Thanks so much to our fabulous staff and loyal customers who have made this such a special place for over two decades,” Gawel’s statement reads. “I am truly humbled by all the support we have received from Upper Arlington and the surrounding communities.”

Colin’s Coffee is located at 3714 Riverside, in Upper Arlington’s Golden Bear Center.

The plaza has been a redevelopment project in the works for several years, and now it appears the project will be moving forward. Yesterday, Arcadia Development announced it had completed the land acquisition for the redevelopment. Arcadia said that demolition, and later new construction, for the project will begin soon.

Located at the corner of Fischinger Boulevard and Riverside Drive, Golden Bear at Riverside will bring a mixed-use development complete with upscale apartments, businesses and dining to the area.
