Popular Short North restaurant opening holiday ski chalet-themed speakeasy
It’s about that time of the year where some people flock to the outdoors, partaking in skiing and snowboarding, while others stay cozy inside, warming up with a nice nog.
But in a city like Columbus, where most of us choose to do the latter, how can we still encapsulate that après–ski vibe with no mountains or chalets nearby?
There’s still a way, actually, and it’s kind of secret…but we’ll let you in on it.

Forno Restaurant opened a speakeasy underneath their Short North restaurant last year, hidden away behind a secret door somewhere inside of the restaurant located at 721 N. High St. While normally, it’s your average elusive speakeasy with dim lighting, sofas, and low ceilings, this holiday season they’re transitioning it to a “Holiday Chalet” theme, complete with holiday cocktails (with a tropical twist), like the Banana Nog, Cold Nut Milk Punch, and Carrie Bradclaus.
The Holiday Chalet Speakeasy opens November 29 and will last until January 5 only. Reservations are recommended! Book your spot here starting at 3:30 today.
