Longtime Dublin-area eatery closes

Jack McLaughlin

A veteran of the northwest side food scene, Gokul Cafe has closed the doors of its Dublin-area eatery, but it may not be the last we see of the concept.

According to a Facebook post, the restaurant officially closed in late October, although the post states that a new location is in the works.

“Dear GOKUL family PERMANENTLY CLOSING CURRENT LOCATION from 10/24 Moving to New Location Soon,” the post reads.

Gokul Cafe was formerly located at 2685 Federated Blvd.

Gokul Cafe did not include additional details on the new location in its statement, and the eatery did not return a request for comment by the time this story was published. No further updates have been provided on the restaurant’s website or Facebook page.

The restaurant, which is named after the city Krishna—a deity in Hinduism—was reportedly raised in, focused on vegetarian fare.
