A brand-new spot for chicken wings and more has opened its doors in the Linden area.

Slappin Wings, which is located at 1600 Oakland Park Ave., held its official grand opening on Jan. 15.

According to owner Credell Gilbert, while the eatery has been open for less than a month, a customer-favorite wing sauce has already been named: the Slappin Sauce.

The recipe for their signature sauce is top-secret, Gilbert said, but a wide variety of other sauce options is also available, including Teriyaki, Mild Fire, Hot Fire, Spicy Garlic, Lemon Pepper and Carolina Gold.

Slappin Wings offers both whole wings (bone-in wing flats with drummies and wing tips attached) and wing dings, which are separated into flats and drummies with the tips trimmed. The eatery also features sides like Hush Puppies, Fried Okra, Mac and Cheese and more. Pizza and sandwiches will also be offered soon.

The new wing spot is carryout only, but diners can also opt for delivery from a number of third party services.
