Columbus’ newest VR golf lounge has arrived, and it brought a popular local sandwich concept along with it.

The Fairway Golf Simulator and Lounge and the eatery that will take over its kitchen space, Birdie’s Grill, have officially opened for business inside a 7,000 square-foot section of the former Upper Arlington Cafe, which is located at 1975 Henderson Rd.

The Fairway features seven different TrackMan golf simulator bays, a bar, and a new food concept in the form of Birdie’s Grill.

Operated by the longtime Columbus restaurant veteran and owner of the sandwich-focused McGinnis’ Grill food truck, Birdie Grill will serve as the first brick and mortar home for McGinnis’ food concepts.

Similar to its mobile counterpart, Birdie’s Grill with serve sandwiches—like their Braised Brisket Melt and Caprese Grilled Cheese  but will also lean into appetizers and other starters.

According to McGinnis, Birdie’s Grill is inspired by the idea of a golf clubhouse, but won’t be limited to traditional clubhouse offerings.
