New dog-themed BBQ restaurant opens for business

A brand-new central Ohio barbeque spot that will have you barking for more has officially opened its doors.

Smokey Dog BBQ held its grand opening on March 15. The new eatery is located at 50 W. Columbus Rd. in Utica, which is approximately 45 minutes from Downtown Columbus.

The restaurant offers a variety of house-made barbeque classics, including ribs, brisket, pulled pork, plus sandwiches and a variety of starters like smoked wings, cornbread, Spam Sliders, Smoked Jalapeno Poppers and more.

For dessert, diners can dig into Smoked Apple Crisp or the concept’s trio of Mason jar desserts, with flavors that include Banana Pudding, Strawberry Shortcake and Key Lime.

The Utica eatery has a wood-lined interior with booths and table seating for diners who want to eat in. Smokey Dog BBQ also offers catering.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12-4 p.m. on Sunday.
